Medical ultrasonic probes provide ultrasound towards objects in human body and detect its reflection, converting it to visual data. In such the way it gives various information of human organs and fetuses.

FLEXCEED's technologies are used at the probe which generates ultrasound and detects it. 2 metal TAB with ultra thin copper realize better resolution of images.

  • High Sensitivity of Ultrasonic given by Ultra Thin Copper (3um Thick)
    Ultra thin copper is used for the flexible circuit to meet requirement of acoustic impedance matching though such ultra thin copper cannot be handled in reel-to-reel process due to its lack of stiffness.
    FLEXCEED successfully developed 2Metal TAB with ultra thin copper layer, using carrier-supported copper foil.

Bending Resistance
Flexible circuits for ultrasonic probes sometimes installed in bending configuration. At the 2Metal TAB of FLEXCEED the best material of copper is selected for bending resistance, and cracks in copper or solder resist is prevented by optimization of the thickness of each material layer. Further it gives customers design flexibility with fine pitch routing.
